JUNIOR SCHOOL HOMEWORK

Homework is a reinforcement and extension of work encountered in the classroom. It provides opportunity for children to practise and revise skills they have been learning. Homework also gives students the opportunity to develop home study skills.

Aims

  • To reinforce and extend the skills and content taught in the classroom;

  • To develop the child's study skills including effective time management and organisation

  • To encourage children to take responsibility for completing homework tasks.

Suggested Time Allocations

Year 1-2: 15 minutes

Year 3-4: 20 minutes

Year 5-6: 40 minutes
